Who do I contact if I have questions about my recycling/ garbage/ bulky waste pick-up?
The Town of East Hartford’s Public Works Department handles all inquiries or problems regarding your recycling, garbage and bulky waste pick-up.   For specific guidelines on what can be recycles, please visit Public Work’s website.

How do I report a street light that is out?
Please report any street light outages to Sylvania Light Company at 1-800-323-0572.  If possible, please have the pole # and address handy when you call.

Who do I talk to about a mosquito problem in my area/neighborhood?
Mosquitoes are a rampant problem throughout the State this summer; and the high volume of rain Connecticut has already seen does not help the problem.  The Town of East Hartford’s Health Department is doing their best to address the mosquito problem.  To report a mosquito problem in your area, please call the Health Department at 860-291-7324.

How can I find out about the events/services that the Town offers for residents?
The Parks and Recreation Department runs most programs and services for residents in East Hartford.  They can be reached at 860-291-7160.  For information about Youth Services, please call 860-291-7179.  Also, be sure to check out the Town's website homepage for "Events Around Town" on the Mayo'r page for "Upcoming Events".  The website address is: www.easthartfordct.gov.


How can I get information on Energy Assistance?
The Connecticut Energy Assistance Program (CEAP) provides low income and working poor households with help in meeting their winter heating bills. Through CEAP, eligible households may secure fuel deliveries and have their utility heating costs defrayed.
