The 2011 Revaluation Program for the Town of East Hartford is currently underway. The Town has hired the firm of Municipal Valuation Services to help conduct its state-mandated reassessment program. In the State of Connecticut each town is required to have a Revaluation every five years. The new assessments from this program will be effective for the October 1, 2011 Grand List.
The Data Collectors verified recent sales. They checked the exterior and also did a brief interior inspection. These tasks help the Assessor’s Office verify the existing data on the town records and enhance its ability to identify and maintain the property inventory throughout the Town.
The Revaluation Program is important for all property owners, it establishes current values resulting in fair and equitable assessments. The assessment represents 70% of fair market value.
